The Bloomfield Chorale, originally known as the Bloomfield Civic Chorus, was organized in 1933 and grew to a membership of 125. For more than 70 years the group flourished and presented many programs and was led by a series of conductors. However, lifestyles changed and the membership dwindled, forcing the group to finally disband. It remained defunct for four years.
In 2008 under the auspices of the Bloomfield Federation of Music, the group was re-established in the community. Now known as the Bloomfield Chorale, under the artistic direction of Ruth Hsu the group is celebrating its ninth season.
The chorale’s group of volunteer singers from Bloomfield and surrounding areas, perform a wide variety of music in annual concerts. Visit the Facebook page www.facebook.com/bloomfieldchorale, email [email protected], or call 973-667-1440 for more information.
