Two Towns Triathlon a big success

Two Towns Triathlon winners show off their medals.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — The Two Towns Triathlon for Kids took place Saturday, Sept. 8. Children ages 7 through 14 participated in a route that included a swim in the South Orange pool, a bike ride through Meadowland Park and the West Montrose neighborhood, and a run around the Duck Pond. The route distances were shorter for the younger children and longer for the older athletes. This event, now in its fifth year, was great fun for all.

Female winners in the ages 7-8 group were Zoe Salsmann in first place, Jamie Tarrow in second place and Summer Connell in third place; male winners in the ages 7-8 group were Eliot Wilkinson in first place, Thomas Hurley in second place and Blake Waller in third place.

Female winners in the ages 9-10 group were Rosemary Thomasch in first place, Gwendolyn Butkus in second place and Jane McGlinn in third place; male winners in the ages 9-10 group were Mason Keith in first place, Zachary Bye in second place and Evan Waller in third place.

Female winners in the ages 11-12 group were Molly Hurley in first place, Sophia Tsioulcas-Sherman in second place and Merry McGlinn in third place; male winners in the ages 11-12 group were Angus Sim in first place, Perry Conklin in second place and Quentin Davis in third place.

Female winners in the ages 13-14 group were Maya Glenn in first place, Violet Gordon in second place and Sydney Mannion in third place; male winners in the ages 13-14 group were Max Jarman in first place, Daniel Butkus in second place and Will Walsman in third place.
