WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange High School Junior Air Force ROTC’s 119 cadets led their high school family in a Veterans Day ceremony in front of the Conforti Avenue campus on Nov. 4. As part of the ceremony the cadets held a flag raising and flag folding ceremony featuring the national anthem.
“The ceremony was entirely planned, coordinated and executed by second-year Cadet Gordon Schneider and third-year Cadet Gabrielle Petrucelli,” retired USAF Major Joseph Marchesini said in a press release. “The ceremony kicked off Mountaineer Squadron’s month-long Salute to Service, which also includes a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project, all cadets doing 22 pushups for 22 days straight to raise awareness for the 22 veterans that commit suicide every day, and classroom visits from active military and veterans to talk about their experiences.”
