WO teen arrested in stabbing of other WO teen in Montclair

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A 14-year-old male from West Orange sustained multiple stab wounds during an altercation in Montclair’s Nishuane Park on Thursday, Nov. 2, according to the Montclair Police Department. Officers were called to the park at 6:50 p.m. for an injured child, and found the victim with multiple stab wounds. The suspect, also a 14-year-old male from West Orange, was found across the street with only scratches on his arms.

Lt. David O’Dowd of the Montclair Police Department told the West Orange Chronicle in a phone interview on Nov. 7, that the victim was transported to University Hospital and is in stable condition.

The suspect has been charged with possession of a weapon, possession with an unlawful purpose and intent to murder. The investigation of the incident is still ongoing.

All charges are merely accusations and all defendants are considered innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
