ORANGE, NJ — Jocelyn Dahta, 32, of Orange, has been arrested and charged with the murder of 90-year-old Henry Boyd, announced acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and East Orange Public Safety Director Sheilah Coley on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
Boyd was murdered in East Orange on Tuesday, Feb. 9, in his South Harrison Street apartment. Dahta was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Feb. 16. The preliminary investigation indicates the Dahta was known to the victim.
She is currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility on $750,000 bail set by presiding Criminal Division Judge Ronald Wigler.
The investigation, which is active and ongoing, is being conducted by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and the East Orange Police, with assistance from the New Jersey State Police.
