BELLEVILLE, NJ — The family of Thomas A. Testa — a longtime Belleville High School science teacher, head football coach and track coach — is now accepting applications for an annual Scholar-Athlete Scholarship established in Testa’s memory in 1999.
Graduating Belleville High School candidates must plan to pursue a college course of study in the science, engineering or mathematics fields, or declare a major with a strong connection to these disciplines.
The candidate must possess scholastic, athletic achievement — meaning a minimum of one varsity letter senior year, or junior year for any senior sport season canceled due to COVID-19 — and good character. The $500 scholarship must be applied to the cost of a post-secondary education.
Applications are available at the Belleville High School Student Personnel Services Department. The application submission deadline is April 30.
The recipient of this award will be announced at the Belleville High School Senior Awards Night in June.
