Cancer programs announced at Clara Maass Medical Center

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Clara Maass Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, provides a complete continuum of care to residents of northern New Jersey. Upcoming programs include:

• Breathe easy: high risk lung cancer screening. Call for schedule. According to the American Lung Association, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States and it is most curable when diagnosed early. In an effort to help identify those who may be at high-risk for developing lung cancer, Clara Maass Medical Center will provide free lung cancer screenings for individuals at high risk for developing lung cancer. To participate, attendees must be between the ages of 55 and 74 and be a current or former smoker. A physician prescription is required for all screenings. This program will be held in the Continuing Care Building at The Cancer Center at Clara Maass Medical Center, located at 1 Clara Maass Drive in Belleville. Those interested in participating are encouraged to contact the Cancer Center at 973-844-4166 and speak with the Lung Cancer Navigator to determine if they are candidates.

• Genetic Counseling. Call for schedule. Genetic counseling is available at the Cancer Center at Clara Maass Medical Center to help individuals determine their risk of developing specific types of cancer. This program will be held in the Continuing Care Building at The Cancer Center at Clara Maass Medical Center, located at 1 Clara Maass Drive in Belleville.
