Bloomfield Township Administrator Matthew Watkins issued a media alert Thursday, July 7, for residents to boil their water. This follows the loss of pressure in a water main near Brookdale ShopRite caused by a tractor trailer hitting a fire hydrant earlier in the day at 10:30 a.m. When water pressure is lost, said Watkins, state law requires the notification as a precautionary measure.
“We’re working with the Department of Environmental Protection,” Watkins said. “The water main has been fixed.”
