The Brookdale Reformed Church, 16 Bellevue Ave., Bloomfield, will be hosting a free seminar on solar energy on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. Scheduled to speak is Elvin Frost, senior solar adviser for Geoscape Solar, in Livingston. Geoscape Solar installed the solar panels on the roof of the Brookdale Reformed Church last year. Frost will talk about solar installations that are subsidized by as much as 80 percent by federal and state agencies with no initial out-of-the-pocket expenses for homeowners. Light refreshments will be served.
