4-H means hands-on fun and learning for all

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Join a 4-H club — the very foundation of the Rutgers Department of 4-H youth development programs. Adult volunteers lead five or more participants in hands-on projects teaching life skills and how much fun group activities can be. 4-H youths across the county, state and nation form a network of 4-Hers and are encouraged to participate in 4-H Fairs, public speaking opportunities and leadership conferences as end results of all their learning.

Check out the list of 4-H clubs at http://essex.njaes.rutgers.edu/4h/.

Calling all children, fifth-grade and up! Come learn about different cultures of the world and the food that comes from them. 4-H brings youth together from all over the county to enjoy a free, hands-on cooking experience with an adult who is passionate about food and teaching. During October’s club, the group will learn to make Japanese pork and shrimp gyoza with the traditional three folds to make them authentic.

4-H is also supplying the fun this winter with monthly Lego Club meetings for children in grades three through eight.
