CALDWELL, NJ — Essex Photo Club will initiate its new season on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 7:30 p.m. with speaker Joseph Thomas of Verona presenting a workshop titled “Self-Assignments: A Challenge to Creativity.” The club meets at the Caldwell United Methodist Church, 8 Academy St. in Caldwell. Thomas, a member of the club, a judge for NJFCC and longtime photographer, will give an illustrated talk that will challenge photographers to become more creative in their work. He will present ways to keep one’s perspective fresh in the endeavor to become a better photographer with more interesting images.
Essex Photo Club, now in its 67th year, offers monthly educational programming to club members and the public as well as competitions where guests can learn from the judges’ critiques. The first competition of the year will be Thursday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. with Todd Boressoff judging images in the categories of pictorial and nature for both beginning and advanced photographers.
Refreshments will be provided to guests at both meetings.
