WHIPPANY, NJ — JFS MetroWest is offering the continuing education class “Beyond the Rainbow: LGBTQ Sensitivity Training” on Tuesday, June 12, from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the Alex Aidekman Family Campus, 901 Route 10, Whippany. The program features speaker Phoenix Schneider, a trans-activist, educator and social worker specializing in program development and direct services in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning communities. It will be moderated by JFS MetroWest Clinical Services Director Lauren Hennion.
The program is intended for — but not limited to — social workers, mental health professionals, educators, community leaders and professionals. Social workers will earn three non-clinical credits for social and cultural competence. Attendance is charged; those who register before June 5 will receive a discount.
