ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — CASA — court appointed special advocates — for children of Essex County will host an information night at the Glen Ridge Public Library on Wednesday, April 6, at 6 p.m. for citizens interested in learning more about advocating for children in foster care.
“Information meetings like the one we’ll be hosting in Glen Ridge are a great opportunities to answer the community’s questions about CASA,” said Rakeem Mosey, recruitment coordinator for CASA.
Last year, CASA advocated for nearly 30 percent of the children in foster care in Essex County. There are more than 1,500 children in need of the same type of support a CASA advocate can provide. CASA information meetings are free and open to the public. Anyone interested in learning more about volunteering as an advocate should attend this meeting.
