MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Jewish Cultural Society, which serves northern New Jersey, will observe Rosh Hashanah on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. and Yom Kippur on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 8 p.m. in rented space in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 67 Church St. in Montclair.
Both erev hour-long programs of secular humanistic readings and songs and the rituals of blowing the shofar and lighting candles will be led by Bennett Muraskin. The Rosh Hashanah celebration will be followed by a potluck dessert session.
