JFS launches support group for teens with depression, anxiety

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — JFS MetroWest will begin offering a support group for teenagers experiencing depression and anxiety on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. starting Tuesday, Jan. 9. The group will meet at JFS offices located at 256 Columbia Turnpike, Suite 105 in Florham Park.

The group will allow teens to communicate and share experiences in a safe and supportive setting. Teens will learn to communicate their needs and challenges assertively, utilize meditation and mindfulness, manage anxious thoughts, increase awareness of their feelings, and incorporate techniques to reduce their anxiety. The group will be facilitated by licensed clinical social worker Robyn Krugman, coordinator of adolescent services.
