JFS receives grant for case management

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — JFS MetroWest recently received a grant from Investors Foundation to support case management. Guided by the wisdom and values of its tradition of respect for all people, Jewish Family Service of MetroWest New Jersey provides innovative, compassionate, and outstanding social services to enhance the independence and well-being of individuals and families throughout all stages of life. The need for case management may arise regardless of age, from children with behavior issues to adults in financial crisis to older adults living alone without the support of family.

Case management provides the most vulnerable individuals in the community — those with pervasive mental illness, chronic financial issues and dependency issues — with the significant time, effort and guidance necessary to ensure that they are safe and living in a stable, healthy environment. Issues are often uncovered during a client’s regular counseling sessions that require significant time and follow up on the part of the social worker, often beyond working hours. Despite the critical nature of these services, it has become more and more difficult to financially support these services due to the fiscal environment of the government, health care and insurance. The Investor’s Foundation grant provides JFS MetroWest with $1,500 to support case management.
