LIVINGSTON, NJ — Licensed clinical social worker Alyson Kaplan, a care consultant at JFS MetroWest, was selected as a recipient of the Lester Z. Lieberman Humanism in Healthcare Award. Sponsored by the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, this award recognizes the contributions of professionals who work in local direct service health care organizations. Those who are recognized are acknowledged for their compassion, empathy, respect and cultural sensitivity in the delivery of services to clients and their caregivers.
In her role as care consultant, Kaplan provides care for seniors and their caregivers throughout the MetroWest community. Over the last seven years, JFS has seen continued growth in the Caregiver Consultation Program and with caregiver services in general, in large part due to Kaplan’s leadership of the program. She sees adults and older adults for counseling, provides case management for Holocaust survivors and assists with private geriatric care management services.
“Alyson embodies all the qualities of a compassionate person dedicated to helping people, whether it’s a senior in need of services or an adult child struggling with the complexities of caregiving,” said Diane Squadron, CEO of JFS MetroWest.
Kaplan is also the social worker for the Memory Care Center at the JCC, assessing new applicants and providing ongoing support to families and leads their monthly caregiver support group, as well as the JFS monthly group in Livingston.
