RAHWAY / HACKENSACK, NJ — The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey’s Perinatal Mood Disorders initiative is pleased to offer free workshops in Union and Bergen counties focusing on maternal mental health. This opportunity is open to all community and clinic based professionals, such as health care providers, home visitors, community health workers, lactation professionals, doulas and all others who work with perinatal women.
This training will provide information regarding maternal mental health screening, the partnership’s Emotional Health Phone Support program and additional state and local perinatal mental health resources to community and clinic based professionals working with expectant women and new mothers. The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by NJSNA, an accredited approver, by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The seminar begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 1:15 p.m. and will cover an overview of New Jersey’s postpartum depression law, risk factors, screening and strategies to support mothers; descriptions of the Emotional Health Phone Support Program and psychiatric emergency services; and evaluations, questions and answers.
Lunch will be served. This program is free of charge, but pre-registration is required.
