“This Health Fair is as a way to let vets know what services are available to them and their families at no cost,” Jacques Hryshko, FAMILYConnections executive director, said in a press release. “FAMILYConnections has been working with vets for two years through our Operation Veterans to Social Workers Program. We have assembled a squad of veterans who are interning at FAMILYConnections, while attending local graduate schools of social work, providing their fellow vets, reservists and active duty personnel with individual, family and group counseling.”

OVSW is a unique program to increase the number of veterans entering the field of social work, so that other veterans and their families, who want professional counseling, can get the help they deserve from a fellow veteran who truly understands their background. The program is fully funded by the Veterans’ Initiative of Prudential Financial Inc.
