Glen Ridge School to become ‘Seussville’ to benefit fundraiser

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — Linden Avenue School in Glen Ridge will become “Seussville” for a day during the school’s biennial Spring Fling fundraiser. The event will be held Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Games, rides, food and prizes will provide hours of fun for kids and adults. The event is open to all families.

Tickets are available the day of the event. Parents can purchase individual game tickets or play-all-day wristbands, which entitle kids to unlimited games, rides on the giant slide, and bounce house fun. Kids will have the chance to participate in the traditional Spring Fling “cake walk,” a musical-chairs style game where each winner goes home with a whole cake.

A silent auction will give families a chance at winning one of dozens of prizes, including a Bobbi Brown Makeup Party for 10 guests, tickets to professional sporting events, and spa packages. Raffle prizes will include theme baskets donated by each of the classes at Linden Avenue School.

Food trucks will offer gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and other grilled items. Concessions will include cotton candy, ice cream and beverages.

Proceeds from the event, sponsored by Linden Avenue Home and School Association, will benefit the school’s multipurpose room renovation.
