Irvington Neighborhood Improvement Corporation to host Thanksgiving giveaway

IRVINGTON, NJ — The Irvington Neighborhood Improvement Corporation will be giving away Thanksgiving baskets to Irvington residents with children, on Tuesday, Nov. 24, from noon to 3 p.m., at Irvington Neighborhood Improvement Corporation, 346 16th Ave., Irvington. Baskets will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, but participants must pre-register. Pre-registration will take place now through Saturday, Nov. 21.

“As we enter the holiday season, I want to make sure that the residents of Irvington, particularly those with children, are able to eat and enjoy the time with each other,” said Mayor Tony Vauss. “INIC is doing a great job helping our Irvington folk who find themselves in need of assistance, now and throughout the year.”

“Those of us at INIC are happy to be able to share these holiday meals with Irvington residents,” said INIC Executive Director Deborah Simpkins. “For pre-registration, participants will need to provide a birth certificate for their children, Social Security cards, proof of income, a photo ID and proof that they live in Irvington. Our baskets will include turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and vegetables.”
