Explore West Essex YMCA summer camps on March 6

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Families can discover all that the West Essex YMCA summer camps have to offer at an information fair on Sunday, March 6. From 3 to 5 p.m. at the YMCA, parents can speak with camp directors while children learn about astronomy with the STARLAB portable planetarium — provided by the Fairview Lake YMCA Camps, do crafts and enjoy snacks.

Before the information fair, West Essex YMCA Camp Director Joanne Browne will lead tours at 1 and 1:45 p.m. at Caldwell University, where Pioneer Trails Day Camp is held. To register, send an email to Browne at [email protected].

From Camp Peanut Shell for preschoolers and Pioneer Trails and Super Summer day camps for children in elementary and middle school, to Teen Adventure Camp and the Counselor-in-Training program, West Essex Y camps build campers’ self-esteem, confidence and social skills in a fun, safe and enriching environment. Children develop independence and wellness awareness through developmentally appropriate activities and learning experiences.

Child care before and after camp is available at no additional charge, and campers who spend two weeks or more in Pioneer Trails Camp or Super Summer Day Camp may sign up for vacation camp, which runs June 22 through 24 and Aug. 22 through 26. Reading time and STEM lessons are incorporated into all camp curriculums.
