JLOSH to hold intro meetings for prospective members

MILLBURN, NJ — Women interested in making a difference in their communities, creating new friendships and having fun are invited to attend an informational meeting with the Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills.

JLOSH has a long history of addressing the needs of women and children. This year the league is specifically focused on children in need and community efforts related to closing the gap on food insecurity, essential clothing needs, school supply gaps and hygiene needs of school-aged children living in poverty.

“Joining the Junior League has made a huge impact on my life. I joined with the desire to help the community and serve those less fortunate than me,” JLOSH President Christina Connant said in a press release. “Over the years, I have developed myself as a leader and become a model to my own children as an active volunteer. At the same time I have met incredible like-minded women who have become true friends.”

The Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills is hosting informational meetings for prospective new members throughout the coming weeks. Children are welcome and the events are free. The meetings will be held as follows: Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Village Coffee, 164 Maplewood Ave. in Maplewood; Thursday, Sept. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rockn’ Joes, 63 Main St. in Millburn; Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Above, 1 South Orange Ave. in South Orange; and Monday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rockn’ Joes, 63 Main St. in Millburn.
