LIVINGSTON, NJ — As part of a local professional clothing donation drive, 23 boxes of new and gently used work-appropriate clothing were donated to the NCJW/Essex Career Closet, located in Livingston.

The Career Closet is a project of the Linda & Rudy Slucker NCJW/Essex Center for Women. The center helps women in transition return to work by offering one-on-one job counseling, computer classes, self-esteem and job readiness programs, as well as financial and legal workshops.

“The Career Closet outfits nearly 200 women each year with work-appropriate clothing,” NCJW/Essex Director of Community Services Sue Wasserman said. “NCJW/Essex volunteers act as personal shoppers to help our clients feel confident and ready when they return to work.”

Appointments at the NCJW/Essex Career Closet are by agency referral only. To donate clothing or to volunteer at the Career Closet, visit www.ncjwessex.org for information or call 973-994-4994.
