‘What Parents Need to Know about Addiction’

Laurence Westreich

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A nationally-renowned addiction psychiatrist and immediate past president of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, Dr. Laurence M. Westreich will speak on “What Parents Need to Know about Addiction” at Temple B’nai Abraham, 300 E. Northfield Road in Livingston, on Monday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. His appearance is co-sponsored with Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel of South Orange.

Westreich is the author of two books for general audiences: “Helping the Addict You Love” and, out this month, “A Parent’s Guide to Teen Addiction.” The current opioid crisis and heightened concern about teen use and abuse of drugs and alcohol make his visit extraordinarily timely. In addition to teaching and research at the NYU medical school, Westreich is a consultant to Major League Baseball and maintains a private practice in New York City and Montclair. His books will be available for purchase at the event.

This event is free and open to the community. For information, visit www.tbanj.org or call 973-994-2290.
