LIVINGSTON, NJ — On Thursday, April 12, the Temple B’nai Abraham family will gather to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day with a service at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Peter Hirschmann, whose son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Hayley Hirschmann, are temple members.
Peter Hirschmann, who will share memories of his own upbringing as the son of a German Jewish industrialist who was an Iron Cross winner in WWI, and memories of fleeing his native Nuremberg in 1939 and settling in Newark. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, earning a Purple Heart.
