Pollan family to share food wisdom at Words

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Corky, Lori, Dana and Tracy Pollan — actress and wife of actor Michael J. Fox — will be at Words Bookstore on Monday, June 6, at 12:30 p.m. to celebrate the paperback release of their cookbook, “The Pollan Family Table.” The Pollan family will be signing copies of their book as well as sharing their kitchen wisdom for delicious, healthy and harmonious family meals.

With a foreword by bestselling author Michael Pollan, “The Pollan Family Table” showcases recipes that turn fresh, local ingredients into healthy, irresistible meals. Michael Pollan, who wrote books such as “The Omnivore’s Dilemma,” “Cooked” and “In Defense of Food,” writes in the foreword about how the family meals he ate growing up shaped his worldview.

Loaded with gorgeous family photos, this stunning and practical cookbook gives readers an inside peek into the daily lives of these busy, inspiring women. Market lists, tips on utensils and homespun advice make this cookbook accessible, but it is the authors’ insistence of the importance of the family meal that won this book the Gourmand Best First Cookbook in 2015.

Complementing the theme of the event, Maplewood’s own Arturo’s Restaurant will be providing seasonal samples of healthy food made with locally sourced ingredients.
