Sending flowering plants to servicepersons’ mothers

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Maplewood Committee for Servicemen and Servicewomen will continue its Mother’s Day tradition of delivering flowering plants on May 8 to the moms of Maplewood men and women now serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The program is run annually with the participation of the Maplewood Garden Club, which provides the flowering plants. Assisting in the program are service committee members Caroline Campbell, Donna D’Amato, John Dilley, Jack English, Carolyn Stickle, Henry Wallhauser and Heidi Wolfly. Judy Cronin is coordinating the garden club’s effort.

The Service Committee sends quarterly $50 gift cards to the local service persons, as well as regular issues of the News-Record and Matters Magazine.
