Staying healthy in Maplewood

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Happy fall from the Maplewood Health Department!

Maplewood will hold two flu clinics — one on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the other on Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon — at Town Hall, 574 Valley St. The clinic is open to all residents, 18 years of age and older. Treatment is charged; Medicare and Medicaid are accepted. Provide proof of age, residency and/or program participation. For more information, call the Maplewood Health Department at 973-762-8120.

A free health program, “Cholesterol: The Highs and Lows,” will be Thursday, Sept. 29, at 2:30 p.m., in the Winchester Gardens auditorium, 333 Elmwood Ave. This program, which is open to all residents, is presented by the Saint Barnabas Senior Health Improvement Program.

The Overlook Hospital Outreach Van will provide free blood pressure and blood glucose screenings on Thursday, Sept. 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hilton Branch Library, 1688 Springfield Ave. This clinic is provided by the Overlook Medical Center and the Maplewood Library.
