CBI events this fall

MILLBURN, NJ — Congregation B’nai Israel, located at 160 Millburn Ave. in Millburn, will resume its “Lunch & Learn” events for adult education this September. Lunch begins at 12:30 p.m. and the program begins at 1 p.m. Programs are open to everyone; admission is charged.

  • On Thursday, Sept. 13, CBI will screen “Wonder,” starring Julia Roberts. This an upbeat story of kindness, compassion and self-acceptance that glides along with wit, assurance and grace. The film has something touching and resonant to say about the current climate of American bullying.
  • On Thursday, Sept. 27, Hirschhorn presenter Elaine Freed Lindenblatt, whose parents owned the Red Apple Rest, will share stories about the famous restaurant on Route 17 that served more than one million famous and unfamiliar customers annually.

Sandwich choices are turkey, corned beef, roast beef, pastrami, tuna fish or egg salad. You may pay at the door. Contact Lois at 973-533-1809 to place your lunch order by the Wednesday afternoon preceding the program.
