MILLBURN, NJ — Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Millburn Police Chief Brian Gilfedder announced Nov. 27 that the Millburn Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating a fatal pedestrian incident that occurred the day before.
At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, Virginia S. Thaler, 70, of Brooklyn, was hit by a car as she attempted to cross the street in the area of Lackawanna Place.
The driver of the car stopped and called for help. Thaler was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 9:54 p.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing. At this time no charges have been filed.
