MILLBURN, NJ — Congregation B’nai Israel, 160 Millburn Ave. in Millburn, will hold two “Lunch & Learn” sessions in November; lunch begins at 12:30 p.m. and the program begins at 1 p.m.
On Thursday, Dec. 14, hear the dynamic cantorial duo of B’nai Israel’s Lorna Wallach and Cantor Erica Lippitz of Oheb Shalom in South Orange, who will have you humming along with their presentation of Hanukkah and melodies both new and familiar. The cantors also weave an entertaining and informative narrative to accompany their beautiful voices.
On Thursday, Dec. 28, Hirschhorn presenter Marty Schneit will discuss why Jews selected Harlem as their residence in the 1880s. He will talk about better known Jewish individuals who came from Harlem, as well as Mt. Olive Baptist Church, originally Temple Israel, the largest and most influential synagogue in Harlem.
