MONTCLAIR, NJ — Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair will present the Rev. Barbara Meyers, who will lead the workshop “Showing Up for Each Other’s Mental Health.” This online Zoom presentation and discussion will be held Saturday, April 17, from 1 to 3 p.m., with a 10-minute break in the middle.
Meyers is a Unitarian Universalist community minister with a mental health ministry based in Fremont, Calif., and she is president of the board of the UU Mental Health Network. In this workshop, Meyers will discuss stories from her mental health ministry — both how-to stories and how-not-to stories — giving guidance for congregants in the pews who want to help make a difference; the importance of spiritual resources and peer groups; the impact that COVID-19 is having on mental health and what people can do to mitigate it; and the Unitarian Universalist Mental Health Network and its recent survey of mental health in the denomination.
