$250K warrant issued for female shooting suspect

NEWARK, NJ — A $250,000 warrant has been issued for Shyteisha McCargo, 23, in connection with a shooting on Saturday, Aug. 27.

At approximately 12:56 a.m., Newark police responded to a call of a gunshot victim near the intersection of Central Avenue and 4th Street, outside of a Dominoes Pizza restaurant. The victim, a 32-year-old male, who was involved in a dispute with the suspect prior to the shooting, was transported to University Hospital and is in stable condition.

Following an intense investigation, detectives determined that McCargo is a suspect in the shooting.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing her from the streets. This investigation is active and ongoing.
