City to provide residents with vouchers for new housing on March 8

NEWARK, NJ — The city of Newark is providing housing vouchers to 62 families who lived in 60 units at the condemned and unsafe properties at 2-18 Stratford Place on Tuesday, March 8, at 10:45 a.m., at the South Ward site. The vouchers will enable them to move quickly into new housing.

The properties are totally funded by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development and all residents will be given HUD vouchers to enable them to find alternate housing while the building is sealed and the most dangerous conditions abated by municipal agencies.
