Pillar College open houses for Spanish-speaking students

NEWARK, NJ — Pillar College, a Christian college, will hold two open houses for its Bilingual Entry Degree Program. The first open house will be Wednesday, April 11, at 6 p.m. at Pillar’s Newark campus, 60 Park Place; the second open house will be Thursday, April 12, at 6 p.m. at Pillar’s Paterson campus, 100 Hamilton Plaza.

The BLEND Program is designed for Spanish-speaking individuals looking to complete an accredited degree. It allows students to take general education classes in their native tongue, while working concurrently to achieve English competency. For the first two years, students take core classes such as math, psychology, biology and English composition while also enrolled in ESL classes, ultimately transitioning to taking the remaining academic requirements in English. BLEND students can complete an associate’s degree in two years taking 60 credits or the equivalent of 20 courses.
