NEWARK, NJ — Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura’s Crimestoppers Program is offering a reward of as much as $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the murder of Lateshia Townes, 31, of Newark.
On May 31, 2014, at 3:30 p.m., Townes was traveling southbound on South 20th Street as a passenger in a 2006 Silver Dodge Charger when she was shot in front of 765 South 20th Street in Newark. Townes succumbed to her injuries on June 2, 2014.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/ Major Crimes Task Force is asking for friends of Townes’ or anyone with information to come forward. All information is confidential.
