NEWARK, NJ — The Unified Vailsburg Services Organization has announced the key partners of its 22nd annual Vailsburg Day awards program, which is on Saturday, April 23, from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at North Star Academy, 22 Hazelwood Ave., Newark, are Gibraltar Bank, Newark Celebration 350, TD Bank and Wells Fargo Bank. The 2016 Vailsburg Day Memorial Award honorees are: TD Bank, Vice President Roxanne Vivanco accepting, Eidenbaum Award for Corporate Service; Junius Williams, Brennan Award for Lifelong Service; Debi Hall Dean, Booker Award for Faith-Based Service; Tariq Raheem, Turk Award for Community Service; and Stephanie Greenwood, Watson Award for Corporate Sustainability
Vailsburg Day Community Service Awards will be presented to 13 members of the Vailsburg community recognized by neighbors, civic leaders, local educators and service volunteers
for outstanding work to improve local quality of life in Vailsburg. The 2016 Community Service Award honorees are: Ricky Faison, Lt. Tracy Childress, John Cavaness, Tomecca Keys, Amina Hylton, Marietta Josephson, Patricia Porterfield, Orest Pyndus, Jeanne Bell, Lydia Nimene, Denise Cook, Wali Muhammad and Shirl Bonilla.
Seventy Vailsburg students have been nominated by their schools for awards and will receive
Youth Achievement Award recognition on Vailsburg Day. Other awards yet to be announced
include the Williams Employee of the Year, the Aeriel Scholarship and special Newark Celebration 350 Anniversary scholarships.
In addition to the awards program and dinner, Vailsburg Day will feature 80 door prizes that
include a big screen TV, tickets to concerts, sports events and movies, vacations and more.

Since 1994, Vailsburg Day has drawn thousands of friends and neighbors to celebrate the
