Nutley Thriving Survivors to hold golf outing fundraiser on May 16

NUTLEY, NJ — The Nutley Thriving Survivors, Inc., is inviting the community to participate in a golf outing and luncheon to benefit the programs they sponsor.

The Nutley Thriving Survivors, Inc., is a 501c3 non-profit organization. The committee, which is chaired by Michele Fleitell, serves to support both breast cancer survivors and their families. The program offers personal support, referrals, and food to women undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

All funds raised go directly to programs they sponsor. There are no administrative costs.

The golf tournament will take place on Monday, May 16, at Hendricks Field on Franklin Avenue in Belleville, and will have a shotgun start at 8 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the Diamond Spring Beach Club, 39 Evergreen Ave., in Nutley.

A fee of $115 includes breakfast, 18 holes of golf with cart, hot and cold luncheon with beer, wine and soda. There will be prizes, a “closest to the pin” contest and “longest drive” contest for men and for women. If you would like to be a hole sponsor, the fee is $60, and if you would like to attend the luncheon only, the cost is $35. Hole sponsors’ names will be included in a large banner that will be displayed at all 2016 events.

“We are encouraging men and women to make a foursome, or let us set you up in one, and join us for a fun day of golf and lunch, prizes and competition,” said Fleitell. If you Can’t join us, consider sponsoring a hole for the event.”

The Nutley Thriving Survivors, Inc. signature events are a “Celebration Walk” and a brunch for survivors and their families, held every October.

“October 7 and 23, 2016, respectively, are the dates for our annual walk and brunch,’ said Fleitell. “We invite all Nutley schools and organizations to participate. This golf outing helps support our October events. We measure our success, in terms of educating women about breast cancer, and celebrating the lives of the women who have survived and continued to thrive.”
