Orange man killed in Irvington double shooting

IRVINGTON, NJ — The Irvington Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a double shooting that resulted in the death of Eliameau Maxime, 32, of Orange, according to an April 26 press release from the ECPO.

On Saturday, April 24, Maxime was shot in the early morning hours on Union Avenue in Irvington. He was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:10 a.m. A 23-year-old was also shot but survived.

No arrests have been. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
