ORANGE, NJ — The city of Orange Township and SUEZ, formerly United Water, are encouraging all customers to conserve water.
Due to a series of seasonal leaks and water main breaks, the city of Orange water supply is low. Customers are encouraged to restrict water use to essential functions.
Water main breaks and leaks occur for a variety of reasons and can happen at any time during the year. They are more likely to happen in extreme weather conditions, especially when temperatures rise and fall quickly during winter months.
Public cooperation is key to preserving the city of Orange’s water supply. Taking shorter showers and turning off the sink faucet while brushing your teeth or shaving can make a big difference during this critical period.
The public’s patience is appreciated while SUEZ continues to work on restoring the system. SUEZ is committed to identifying and fixing water main breaks and leaks as quickly and as safely as possible. For more information, call the SUEZ customer service line at 866-893-0546 or the My Orange Hotline at 973-280-1621.
