Beth El to host Nate Fish

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — On Sunday, Nov. 19, Congregation Beth El in South Orange will host a presentation from American-Israeli baseball star Nate Fish. The event will begin with lunch at noon, followed by the presentation.

Fish played for the Tel Aviv Lighting team during the only year of the Israel Baseball League and previously served as the national director of the Israel Association of Baseball. This past spring, he was part of Team Israel’s Cinderella story during their run in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, with impressive performances in the qualifying round in Brooklyn, and in the first two rounds in South Korea and Japan. He has also won three medals at the Maccabiah Games.

In his presentation, “Holy Land Hardball: Representing Israel on the World Stage Playing America’s Pastime,” Fish will share his experience trying to bring American culture and sports to Israeli society and also what it was like to represent the state of Israel on the national stage in the world of sports.
