MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Learn how birding leads to environmental stewardship on Monday, March 5, when Maplewood Garden Club hosts Tedor Whitman, executive director of the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary in Short Hills, at 7:30 p.m. at Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker St. One of Whitman’s favorite topics is birds, birding and conservation; during his presentation, “Birding for All Seasons in New Jersey,” he will explain why New Jersey’s geographical location along the Atlantic Flyway makes it one of the best places in the United States to go birding year-round. This event is free and open to all.
