Boys & Girls Clubs of NJ honor South Orange woman

CLIFTON, NJ — Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey’s fall celebration honored South Orange resident Ann Burke, formerly of Wakefern Food Corporation, who for more than a decade has served as a champion of Boys & Girls Clubs youth. She has demonstrated tremendous commitment to supporting Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey through her longstanding leadership on BGCNJ’s corporate advisory board. Burke’s passion and generosity has greatly impacted the quality of life for young people in need across the state.

RWJBarnabas Health was recognized as a corporate champion by Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey for making a unique impact and working to keep communities healthy. The organization has focused on improving the health and wellness of NJ Club youth through educational initiatives, including the “Hands On Healthy Kids” nutrition and wellness program. 

BGCNJ spokesperson, comedian and radio personality Joe Piscopo served as the event’s master of ceremonies. The program showcased the 2019 NJ Military Youth of the Year winner, Tamiya R., from the McGuire Youth Center, as well as youth performers from the Boys & Girls Club of Newark-Ironbound. The event featured a performance by world class entertainer and mentalist Oz Pearlman.
