Celebrating the impact Christian women make

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — The South Orange-Vailsburg United Methodist Church is grateful for the women throughout the world who make a difference in their communities with their ingenuity and their courage. The congregation will be highlighting the involvement of Christian women and their devotion to the cause of Christ and the concerns of their communities with two events during the month of March.

  • There will be a prayer breakfast on Saturday, March 10, from 9 a.m. to noon, with guest speaker Pastor Theresa Ayers. She will speak on this year’s theme, taken from II Corinthians 16:13, “Women Bold and Courageous, Affirming Our Purpose.” Members of the community are welcome. Admission is charged; call the church to make a reservation at 973-763-0655.
  • On Sunday, March 18, at the 10 a.m. worship service, the congregation will hear uplifting messages regarding and praising the positive influence Christian women have in the world. Along with musical and liturgical dance presentations, guest speaker Rev. Juel Nelson, director of leadership development of the Greater NJ Annual Conference, will speak. Members of the community are welcome.
