Community Invited to Celebrate Seton Hall Weekend 2019

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — The public is invited to join the Seton Hall University community on Saturday, Oct. 19, for a fun-filled event celebrating the university’s community spirit and the close ties enjoyed by alumni, students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community.

The event will start with the 35th annual Farinella 5K Run, followed by food, activities and games throughout the day on the main campus at 400 South Orange Ave. in South Orange.

The rest of the day will feature a variety of activities for everyone, from boardwalk and carnival games, to live performances on the university green, a 10-minute Pirate escape room challenge, the “Mounds, Piles & Massings” Walsh Gallery exhibit, food trucks and more.

The Division of Volunteer Efforts will also be hosting its University Weekend Philanthropy Project, where members of the community can stop by and help assemble care packages for those in need. Attendees are encouraged to bring items or care packages to donate.

Children of all ages can also enjoy “Princess Puffery,” a free performance by the university’s Theatre Department, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the Theatre-in-the-Round.
