MAPLEWOOD, NJ — From July 16 through 30, weather permitting, the Essex County Department of Public Works will be milling and paving sections of Valley Street in Maplewood from Hixon Place to the county line. The work will be done overnight, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., as part of the Essex County 2018 Roadway Resurfacing Program.
While milling and paving is taking place, sections of Valley Street will be intermittently closed to non-emergency traffic. During these operations, access to certain streets and driveways may be prohibited; if you need to leave your home or business between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. during this time, make arrangements to park your car elsewhere.
Follow all detour signs. Parking on Valley Street during construction will not be permitted. New traffic patterns and signs will be posted.
