Helping yourself to some hamantaschen

SO-tsti purim treats-WSOUTH ORANGE, NJ — The eighth-grade class at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel’s Hebrew High School got into the Purim spirit by baking hamantaschen, the filled-pocket pastry associated with the Jewish holiday which falls this year on March 24. Hamantaschen refer to the tri-cornered hat worn by the evil minister, Haman, a prominent character in the Book of Esther, on which Purim is based.
