Honoring small business every day in Maplewood

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A small group of entrepreneurs are taking the opportunity of the holidays and the recently held Small Business Saturday to open a Holiday Pop-up Store at 1560 Springfield Ave. in Maplewood. The idea for the store was created by Lorna K. Johnson, founder of Global Linkages, and Lola Fasehun, founder and CEO of What Lola Wants, who is donating her business location to the small business vendors to sell their goods during the month of December.

“There are few opportunities for small businesses to sell their goods, so they must take advantage of the holiday season to promote the sale of their goods, which very often are special and unique handmade gifts that don’t come from the mall and mass production, instead they come from the heart,” Fasehun said in a press release. “For the holidays I thought what better way to get in the holiday spirit than to have tea and give back and this is my way to do just that.”

The store will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 17 and 18.
