MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Discover the fascinating history of bonsai on Monday, Feb. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker St., when the Maplewood Garden Club presents “From Bench to Bed: What Bonsai Can Teach Gardeners.” Speaker Marc Montefusco applies what he has learned about bonsai every day in the gardens at the Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, where he is director of horticulture. He believes that the art of bonsai has much to teach gardeners, whether or not you ever own a single bonsai tree. During his presentation, he will explore this deeply traditional, wildly innovative horticultural art form.
